Abstract

Telecommunications networks continue to evolve with the times, the increasing demand for telecommunications services very rapidly and the demand for good quality telecommunication services, making companies feel telecommunications service providers must innovate the existing telecommunications network to answer all requests. Therefore modernization copper access network with fiber optic with one Giga Bit satuteknologi based Passive Optical Network (GPON). After modernization of the copper access network into the optical fiber, optical fiber can meet the needs of customers with increased service quality and bandwidth will increase in size was found to be up to 100 Mbps. First process that must be done before the design is to do a site survey and collecting data that will be used as materials in the design of modernization. In this thesis also uses AutoCAD 2010 application to create an image design that starts from the design of the feeder cable lines, cable distribution to the optic drop Kael. With the cost of optical fiber needed to be cheaper than the copper wires and bandwidth capacity that can be channeled through a fiber optic cable is also great as well as services become more learned. Then the system becomes simpler, smaller optic cable placement would seem easier and more presentable. Keywords: Modernization, Innovation, Copper Cable, Fiber Optics, GPON
