Abstract

The development of technology nowadays, is more advanced in every sectors. As in the case of telecommunications, media used is optical fiber, optical fiber is a transmission telecommunication technology near and far distance that have been developed so that it is able to perform simultaneous triple play application. Therefore, many telecom service providers are considering to use fiber optic technology. Optical fiber technology has a network planning called FTTX (Fiber to the x) covering network design FTTH (Fiber to the Home). However, the problem in the design of this FTTH network is the mapping software sometimes experiencing incompatibility to the original terrain data and internet network connections are not always available. Therefore the making of this FTTH design includes network design, material needs and link budget as well as the Bill of Quantity (BOQ) using Geographic Information System (GIS) as the mapping software that does not require an internet connection as well as the accuracy of terrain that can be maintained. The design of this FTTH retrieve the Purwokerto data area with the area sample North Purwokerto districts and comparing scenarios 1:32 one stage with two stage 1:4 - 1:8 to obtain the results of BOQ and link budget calculation for 1:32 one stage which is 37 pieces of ODP, 587 core distribution, 18 PS ODC, 18 core optic feeder and 19 pieces of cable distribution and scenario 1:4 - 1:8 two stage number 73 PS ODP, 73 pieces of ODP, 18 PS ODC, 6 pieces distribution cable, 73 cores of distribution and 18 core feeder. And the ratio of link budget for the scenario of 1:32 is 17.86 dB whereas 1:4 - 1:8 amounted to 21.65 dB Keywords : FTTH, link budget, BOQ, GIS, Purwokerto
