Abstract
ABSTRACT Access network development nowadays make telecommunication operator to increasing their service using fiber optic as the transmission media specially Fiber to the Home (FTTH). Because the higher needs of capacity and bandwidth, Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) is a technology that can be a solution of those needs. CWDM working through transmit process of some different wavelength combination in a fiber optic with spacing channel 20 nm. In this analysis, the design process used experiment method which consists of literature study step, calculation and analysis. The writer will perform FTTH network simulation by using CWDM technology with OptiSystem 7.0 software and also compared the usage of multiplexing 1x4 and 1x8. For the properness of system, through analyzing Link Power Budget, Rise Time Budget parameter and also system performance BER gotten from simulation. The results of that simulation is link power budget with good value whether through FTTH-CWDM Mux 1x4 and Mux 1x8 design with Prx of -25,783 dBm for Mux 1x4, and Prx of -26,113 dBm for Mux 1x8. Those result are still above sensitivity which is -28 dBm. The total time maximum result of Rise Time Budget calculation in FTTH-CWDM Mux 1x4 design is 0.2539 ns for Mux 1x4 and 0.2484 ns for Mux 1x8, those time are still under NRZ total time coding which is 0.28 ns. BER result of this Mux 1x4 design is 1,04128×10-12 and 2,81614×10-15 for Mux 1x8. This design system had good performnace because the result of BER is above standard from PT.
