Abstract

IPTV is a system for the delievery of digital television services using the IP network through a broadband connection. IPTV serves both live broadcast or programs or videos stored on the server with Video on Demand (VOD). The IPTV delievery process is using IP multicast method (live broadcast) and IP unicast method (VOD). IPTV also has a drawback, which is very depend on the quality of internet it is used, if the internet connection dropped, the resulting images will be dashed due to poor network. This lack of network can be seen with line parameters such as ping, jitter, signal to noise ratio (SNR), line ratem and attainable rate. Based by line parameters measured at speedy network in purwokerto with 51 samples of costumers, the average of parameter obtained at ping is 67.6 ms (good), jitter 22.5 ms (enough), SNR upstream 22 dB(good) and SNR downstream at 28.2 dB (good) is good parameters for IPTV and as well as parameters of the line rate and attainable obtaied.
