Abstract
An effort to obtain a variety of information such as is by exploiting and using the internet. Internet provider companies one of which is PT Telkom, Tbk which offers internet service called Speedy, which is high speed internet services through a network of copper telephone wires. But the progress of the transmission service lacks interchangeable now indicating that dissatisfaction with copper wire turned into a coaxial cable to the fiber optic cable. This paper have purpose to determine the parameters calculation of the network quality on Speedy customer when using Multi-Service Access Network (MSAN) and after using the technology Gigabyte Passive Optical Network (GPON). By using the method of comparative analysis, this paper compare two or more variables in the percent ratio. From the calculation of the sample before and after using GPON, than get that attenuation Tx parameter to be better on the upstream side of the GPON customer with value 3,66 dBm. Whereas in Tx attenuation before using GPON technology get 15,63 dBm, and Tx attenuation on the downstream side to increase the quality of the network from -23,07 dBm to 18,6 dBm. For Rx attenuation parameter before using GPON technology on the upstream side and downstream side is increase the quality of the network. Upstream on Rx Attenuation get changes from 14,25 dBm to 3,48 dBm. Total Attenuation parameter get changes from 29,98 dBm to 9,30 dBm of upstream side, and -49,37 dBm to -38,86 dBm of downstream side. So after using GPON, quality of ADSL network is getting better.
