Abstract

One of the communication media are often used today are fiber-optic communication. In this final project will be analyzed the influence of the angle of tilt of the cutting of fiber optics to the quality of the connection. Here using two optical fiber single mode and multi mode, each result will be analyzed redamannya. At the time of cutting fiber-optic here using a tool called fiber fiber optic cleaver cut in accordance with predetermined angles 0.1 º, 0.3 and 0.5 º. After cutting the core then cleaned using alcohol 70%, 80% and 90%. Then do the process connection is using fusion splicer and wait for the results of the connection if there is a mistake or not. After the connection is finished waiting for data from the fusion splicer is out. The results of the analysis above, the data obtained from any process of cutting and connecting analyzed and dibandingakan the damping results out of any optical fiber cutting results determined angle.Then compare the results of cutting and connecting optical fiber single mode and multi mode to find out the magnitude of the resulting attenuation.
