Abstract

On some of the specific activities required the existence of a system of monitoring the temperature and humidity of the room. This can be realized with PC based data acquisition system. In General, applications that run on your PC function to display and record the result of measurement. However often the applications is only able to run on a specific operating system and developed with proprietary software closed (proprietary). This research aims to develop application monitoring the temperature and humidity of the room for the PC which is multiplatform, using open source software.The application is designed to use a programming device Processing with display GUI interface. Software development method that is selected is a Simple Process (PSP/Personal Software Process). From the testing that was done, either in the Windows environment (Windows 7) and Linux (Ubuntu 14.04), applications have been able to receive the data of temperature and humidity data to receive the data of temperature and humidity data acquisition device through serial communication (USART), display it in the form of numbers the temperature and humidity in a GUI system and record into a text file formatted CSV (Comma-Separated Values). On the development of the next expected application supports data acquisition device control from a PC. Keywords: Processing, viewer, recorder, temperature, and humidity
