Abstract

Weather conditions can change at any time becomes a problem in some drying processes so that needed a device to tell the weather conditions that occur in the drying place. AT89S51microcontroller-based rain detection device with a SMS notification in this final project is one of its solution. The rain detection device which is made in this final project uses a PCB board conductor as water sensor and LDR as the light sensor. While the AT89S51 microcontroller is used as a control tool contains a whole list of programs, and the mobile transmitter as a notifier tool of weather conditions that occur through sending sms. The workings of this device is in a state when the weather is rainy or overcast conditions, the water sensor and light sensor will be active and cause the microcontroller send sms form of weather information that occurs through the sender's mobile phone. The results obtained from testing this rain detection device is the device can work well with a properly informed of weather conditions.
