Abstract

Human activity is mostly done in open space. The problem that becomes a polemic is air pollution. The absence of air quality monitoring system encourages the technology to create a system capable of monitoring air quality in terms of poor air around the specified threshold level. Most of the observations on the surrounding environment, there is still little information about the air quality is good or bad, so it is not aware of danger threatens human health. With information technology, air quality can be monitored in order to know the threshold value. Application of Wi-Fi on android smartphone connected to ESP8266 module on arduino. Then when arduino is activated, it will be active on all system controls that are in arduino. After that Arduino input mounted air sensor, while the output of arduino installed module to send the results of the data obtained. After the entire design of the tool is completed, the main function of android smartphone is to display the results of data obtained from these devices using wireless transmission media.Serta as alarm marker by using buzzer and led. The smartphone application can receive data send from arduino via Wi-Fi connectivity with the longest delay up to 67 second and the average delay is 36 seconds. The working principle can help ease the air quality information for the general public and related departments in particular. Keywords: Arduino Uno, Applications smartphone, Wi-Fi
