Abstract

A point of sales (POS) application is designed to facilitate accurate and efficient calculation of a customer's total purchase. The POS application includes several menus such as cashier, sales data, sales reports, graphs, product data, and customer data. Hadi Sport Shop is a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) that sells sports equipment and accessories located in Tegal, Central Java. Based on an interview with the shop owner, Mr. Hadi Sumitro, several issues were identified, such as the manual recording of inventory, which affects time efficiency. Additionally, the owner struggles to find items as they must refer to the stock list in a book. This research aims to create an application that can solve these problems. Therefore, the author contacted Hadi Sport Shop to collaborate in developing the POS application. The research employs the agile method using the extreme programming (XP) model for development, while testing is conducted using black box testing and user acceptance testing (UAT). The black box testing results indicate a success rate of 93.33%, meaning it is highly feasible. Additionally, the UAT results show a total percentage of 93%, indicating that the application is rated as Excellent by potential users. The result of UAT analysis concludes that the application achieved an effectiveness score of 96.25% and an efficiency score of 95.64%.
