Abstract

Online Travel Agent (OTA) is a service that provides accommodation for airline tickets, train Online Travel Agent (OTA) is a service that provides accommodation for airline tickets, train tickets, hotel bookings online. Based on the comparison results on the Brand Index Comparison Website, the agoda Website does not have an assessment of online hotel reservation sites from Users since 2019 - 2022, and in 2023 agoda entered the lowest rank with a value of 9.00% from a scale range of 0-100%. This value shows that the agoda Website does not provide a good experience for Users. This evaluation aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the agoda Website interface based on established design principles, as well as to find out Users' opinions about the suitability of the design to their needs. In this study, researchers used the heuristic evaluation method which involved three Experts or evaluators to find problems on the agoda Website. In this heuristic evaluation method, there are severity ratings that are used to measure the severity of problems or deficiencies in the User interface being evaluated as well as to prioritize improvements and provide a clearer understanding of the criticality of the problems found. The researcher also distributed questionnaires on social media with the criteria of 18-35 years old who already had an agoda account and had booked a hotel room on the agoda Website and got 32 respondents according to the required criteria. Evaluators found several problems that exist on the agoda Website, namely on the main page, select hotel page, page, hotel details page and payment page. Based on the problems that have been found by the evaluator, the evaluator determines the heuristic principles and determines the level of severity ratings. In the 10 principles of heuristic evaluation, 6 heuristic aspects were found in the problems on the agoda Website, namely Visibility of System Status, Match between the system and the real world, Consistency and Standards, Error Prevention, Flexibility and efficiency of Users, and Aesthetic and minimalist design. Based on the problem data found, it is necessary to Redesign the User interface on the agoda Website and conduct usability Testing with the system usability scale (SUS) metric in order to get feedback from Users. The results of Testing get an average SUS score of 72.67% with the adjective rating obtained is good. Redesign is carried out in accordance with the problems that have been found and in accordance with the recommendations for improvement from the evaluator and the development method used is prototyping.
