Abstract

Smoking is a habitual activity for cigarette users that is difficult to avoid in everyday life. Cigarettes contain narcotics that cause dependence in smokers. Some people often ignore the negative effects of exposure to cigarette smoke. This is because the adverse effects of cigarette smoke are not immediately apparent at the start of smoking. Many cigarette users refuse to undergo examination for many reasons. Therefore, researchers built an expert system for diagnosing diseases in smokers using the web-based certainty factor method. This system was created to make it easier for users to diagnose early due to smoking, and provide knowledge about diseases that can be caused by smoking. The certainty factor method is the method used in this system, the solution of this system is to recognize the symptoms of disease in smokers, in order to know the disease, differential diagnosis of the disease, and education from the disease. In this system, researchers make the application of the certainty factor method for diagnosing diseases in smokers, this system requires experts who are experts in the field of cigarette disease to get appropriate data about cigarette disease information so that existing problems are resolved. The results of this study are in the form of disease diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and disease-related education. In this study, 10 numbers of case data have been tested and 9 data are successful, while 1 data is not successful so that from the results of this study, it can be concluded that the system is successful.
