Abstract

In the Vehicle-to-Vehicle communication system, involving users on both sides, namely the transmitter and receiver, which move randomly and are surrounded by scatterers also moving randomly. One of the challenges that arises when the transmitter and receiver are in motion is the Doppler effect. The Doppler effect occurring during the transmission process can lead to disturbances, namely Intercarrier Interference (ICI) and Intersymbol Interference (ISI). This research aims to reduce ICI and ISI by employing the multi-carrier Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique and implementing zero forcing equalization at the receiver to address the Doppler effect. The system's performance will be tested using Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) modulation with reference to the Bit Error Rate (BER) parameter. At a speed of 7 m/s with an Eb/No value of 0 dB, without zero forcing (ZF), the BER is 1,683 x 10-1 dB, while with ZF, the BER is 1,121 x 10-1 dB. At a speed of 17 m/s with an Eb/No value of 0 dB, without ZF, the BER is 1,711 x 10-1 dB, while with ZF, the BER is 1,315 x 10-1 dB. At a speed of 27 m/s with an Eb/No value of 0 dB, without ZF, the BER is 1,952 x 10-1 dB, while with ZF, the BER is 1,345 x 10-1 dB. Thus, the use of ZF equalization provides better performance compared to without ZF equalization. Keywords: V2V Channel, OFDM, Doppler Effect, Zero Forcing, BER
