Abstract

Awareness of the importance of work safety in the world of work is very important to create a safe, productive and sustainable work environment. This study is shown to determine the application of safety climae in the BJM UPVC production section. In this study using the Nordic occupational safety climate questionnaire instrument or what can be called the NOSACQ-50. In this study there are three objectives, namely to find out the safety clmate of workers at BJM UPVC, identify problems in implementing the safety climate at BJM UPVC and determine the level of safety climate safety for BJM UPVC workers. There are two methods in this study, namely by interviewing workers and filling out the NOSACQ-50 questionnaire. The results of the research conducted found that the level of safety climate at BJM UPVC is in the moderate category because four of the seven dimensions in the NOSACQ-50 questionnaire get a moderate category with a score ≤2.70 and require improvement, while three dimensions get a good category with a score ≥3.00 does not require improvement but only needs a little improvement. From the results of the research that has been done, there are several ways to increase workers' awareness of the safety climate, namely by conducting effective safety training, giving awards to workers who are active in safety efforts, and companies can create a safe working environment for workers at BJM UPVC. Keywords: safety climate, HSE, NOSACQ-50
