Abstract

Verus coin, one of the cryptocurrencies that can be mined using CPUs, has gamered attention in the crypto mining industry. However, how profitable is Verus coin mining? The objective of this research is to analyze the profitability of mining Verus coin by comparing hashrates using a CPU mining model. The study conducted an analysis of Verus coin mining results using CPUs, considering factors such as CPU performance, operational costs, and network difficulty. A comparison was made between mining results achieved with Set Top Box (STB), Virtual Private Server (VPS), and Laptop. The research findings indicate that STB devices outperform VPS and Laptops in terms of profitability. Mining efficiency using STB devices was proven to be excellent, even competing with CPUs found in VPS and laptops. Therefore, this study concludes that mining Verus coin through CPUs, particularly with the use of STB devices, can yield promising profits. However, it is important to note that profitability can fluctuate over time due to price fluctuations and network difficulty. Hence, periodic evaluation of profit potential is necessary, considering changes in market conditions and operational costs. These conclusions provide a more accurate perspective on the profit potential of mining Verus coin through CPUs.
