Abstract

Along with the rapid development of communication technology, media and information technology, making the internet network one of the most important needs. To determine whether a device is connected to a network, use the ping command. This study aims to 1) Design an IP Ping application using the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) using the prototyping method. 2) Knowing the success rate of using the IP Ping application. The method used in system development is the prototyping method. In the system design is done by system flowchart, use case diagram, activity diagram and application interface design. The results of this study are in the form of software designed using the prototyping method in executing the ping command. From the test results, it successfully displays the ping IP address with an average time of 3.89 seconds. Keywords: ping, Protocol, Android
