Abstract
ABSTRACT Indoor positioning technology is currently widely used in wireless networks. One wireless network device that can support indoor positioning technology is the Xbee S2 Pro module. The Xbee S2 Pro module works at 2.4 GHz using the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. The antenna on the Xbee S2 Pro module has linear polarization so that the received power is less than optimal and does not work well when in the room. For this reason, circular polarization (CP) antennas are needed instead of the default Xbee S2 Pro antenna so that the received power is more optimal. There are many types of antennas that can be used as CP antennas, one of which is the dipole antenna. To make circular polarized dipole antennas can use AMC (Artificial Magnetic Conductor). In this research, the design of dipole antennas without AMC and dipole antennas with AMC uses Ansoft HFSS software. Antenna without AMC produces an axial ratio of 51.5394 dB, a gain value of 0.4229 dB and a s-parameter (return loss) value of -2.9023 dB. Antenna using AMC produces an axial ratio of 0.824880212 dB, a gain value of 5.559845074 dB, and a s-parameter (return loss) value of -14.43526839 dB. so from the simulation results it can be concluded that the dipole antenna using AMC parameter values are better than the dipole antenna without using AMC.
