Abstract

Ethernet was originally a technology used for data communication in a computer network in a limited area, due to the high interest in the needs of customers in the delivery of voice data or video then the telecommunications company PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia, namely using a device that can cover a wide area with Metro Ethernet. Metro Ethernet is a networking technology that uses transmission Baseband. Metro Ethernet devices using fiber optic cable i.e. Giga Ethernet and Fast Ethernet speeds up to 1000 Mb/s so that the transmission of data to the customer very quickly. In penarapannya Metro Ethernet technology-based GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network), which is a technology that can transmit FTTx information up to the Subscriber by using the optical cable.
