Abstract
Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) is a technology derived from Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) which consists of a number of moving vehicles capable of communicating with each other wirelessly. Although VANETs can help exchange traffic information, implementing VANETs themselves is very expensive. Therefore, simulation-based research is needed to support the implementation of VANET networks. In this final assignment, comparative research is carried out on the performance of the Ad Hoc On Demand Multipath. Distance Vector (AOMDV) and Ad Hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocols on VANET networks. This research will later compare the results of several Quality of Service (QoS), including throughput, packet delivery ratio and packet loss. Testing was carried out in the residential road area of Central Sokaraja village with a number of nodes 6, 20 and 40 and node speeds of 8m/s and 20m/s. design and testing using Simulation Urban Mobility (SUMO)and Open Street Map (OSM) applications on Network Simulator 2 (NS2). The results of this research show that the results of the packet delivery ratio and throughput parameters for a node speed of 8m/s increase as the number of nodes increases, while for a speed of 20m/s they decrease as the number of nodes increases. The packet loss parameter for a node speed of 8m/s gets better as the number of nodes increases, while for a node speed of 20m/s it gets worse as the number of nodes increases. Keyword : AODV, AOMDV, NS2, VANET.
