Abstract

The Human needs for information always increase with rapid globalization. To get information one of them with internet. The distance from DSLAM (Digital Subcriber Line Access Multiplexer) in central up to ADSL (Asymetric Digital Subscriber Line) in costumer greatly affect the quality of the ADSL service . Under these conditions, PT. Telkom modernize the access network that is replace the existing network of old telephone exchange or PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) and DSLAM that connecting customer to the internet replaced by the MSAN (Multi-Service Access Network). How does the quality of the ADSL service before and after the Cut Over to the MSAN affected by the parameter SNR, attenuation, attainable Rate. There are two methods used to determine the quality of the ADSL service in this case, first method is the percentage ratios before and after the Cut over to the MSAN and Paired Sample T-Test methods. From data samples before and after the Cut Over to the MSAN so SNR value increased of 17.56%, attenuation value decreased 76.56%, and the attainable rate increased by 106.43%. So after the Cut Over to the MSAN process, ADSL service quality is better. Keyword : DSLAM, MSAN, SNR, Attenuation , Attainable Rate.
